Are you looking for wood flooring for your home? As there are many styles and types of wooden flooring on the market, choosing the perfect floor can be a challenge. For help with making the right solution for any room in your home, we have created a guide to the top 3 types of wood flooring.

Which Type Of Wood Flooring Do You Need For Your Home?

Wooden flooring is popular among homeowners because of its natural and elegant style. Available in various finishes and materials, wood floors can be selected to match almost any interior within your home. However, there is much more to choosing the right wooden flooring, than simply selecting a colour or wood type. At Nagle Flooring we sell three different types of wooden flooring. All manufactured the highest of standards; each type delivers a stylish and hardwearing wooden floor for any room in your home.
  • Solid wood flooring. Typically each board is made from a single piece of wood which is 15-20mm thick. Available in Oak, Merbau, Walnut and Jatoba, our solid wood flooring is fitted using a tougue-and-groove system. Extremely durable, solid wood floors can be sanded back to restore the finish and remove scratches and dents. This can be done a number of times; depending on how deep the tongue is set. Solid wood floors can be laid in virtually any room with a consistent atmosphere. It is great for hallways and living rooms where you can really show it off. Did you know that no one will ever have same solid wood floor to yours? A solid wood floor gives your house a personality and exclusivity, as you won’t find another floor with the same grain anywhere else. Solid wood flooring is at the top end of the market, making it more expensive than laminate or engineered. Even though this type of flooring might cost you more, in the long run its durability will pay off.
  • Laminate flooring. Laminate flooring is a compressed fibreboard plank covered with a laminate, photographic image of the chosen wood glued on top. As a result of the way it is manufactured, some laminate wood floors are suitable for kitchens and bathrooms, as they do not swell like solid wood. It is great for living rooms, studies and playrooms. Available in a wide variety of imitation natural materials, laminate wooden flooring is cheap, hardwearing and easy to fit.
  • Engineered wood flooring. Engineered flooring is composed of three of four layers of wood which are bonded together. This type of wooden flooring has a 4mm real wood veneer on top, allowing you to gently sand it back and refinished if it becomes scuffed, worn or damaged. Stronger than laminate and more stable than solid wood, engineered wooden flooring is a good compromise on quality and price.
